Shirdi Sai Baba and Neem Tree

I was once told that the Neem Tree under which Baba had sat had sweet leaves.
Once on a visit to Shirdi I picked up one leaf, which had fallen on the ground and ate it, but lo! it was tasteless.
Many years later, when I was writing my first book on Sai Baba, I found out that the Neem Tree's 'tasteless' leaves signifies transcending the dualities.......

Shri Sai Baba’s blessed Kafni at Kurla, Mumbai for darshan In 1918, when Late Dr. Keshav Bhagwant Gawankar was 12 years old, he along with his parents and aunt had visited Shirdi. Baba made young Keshav sit near Him and lovingly passed His hand over his back. Baba asked Keshav for Dakshina (money or material things offered to a deity) of two paise (this signifies shraddha - faith and saburi - patience). Keshav was confused, Madhavrao Deshpande (Shama), who was standing close by, took his hand and gave it in Baba’s hand and told him to say ‘Given’, which he did. To which Baba said, ‘Taken’. After this Baba gave His Kafni (the robe Baba wore) to Keshav as Prasad. This Kafni is a part of the spiritual legacy of the Gawankar family. And magnanimously they allow the devotees’ to touch the Kafni and seek Baba’s blessings on Dussera.
